Ottawa's biggest transit union broke off all talks with the city after coming to an impasse over scheduling issues. The city is now urging the federal government to step in and force the union to bring the municipality's last offer to its membership for a supervised vote.
Hockey dad volunteers to host world junior players
Behind the scenes of the 2009 IIHF World Junior Championships, thousands of volunteers are making sure every game goes smoothly. Men from the west end are giving their time to host visiting teams for the entire duration of the tournament - they'll be eating, sleeping and travelling with the players for over two weeks.
